This quiz is based on SAT-style vocabulary – the kind that shows up in tricky reading sections or pops up with more than one meaning. It’s less about memorizing definitions and more about understanding how words actually work.
You’ll get 27 words – some will be in sentences, others will just ask for a definition on their own.

#20 'Impartial' means 'disinterested' as well as 'fair'. 'Disinterested' means 'not taking sides, not having a stake in the outcome' (ie, impartial), and not 'uninterested'.
I thought the sentence gave it enough context to make 'fair' a more likely answer.
Load More Replies...I am sorry but these are not 27 Tricky Words to be SAT ready, this is common vocabulary used pretty much every day.
If you aren't a native English speaker then some of them could be difficult. I don't think I've ever used the words spurious, analogous or buttress in my life and I'm from the country that invented the language. 🏴
Load More Replies...Dear BP, dirt need not be involved for something to become contaminated
